Encrypt Your Files or Folders with Flexcrypt Folder[Windows only]
Monday, June 23, 2008 @ 8:34 PM  ¦ 0 comments  ¦ StumbleUpon Toolbar Stumble It!  ¦
Earlier I had mentioned about a web based tool called InfoEncrypt that easily encrypts your message online so that you can send it securely to your friend over web. InfoEncrypt really helpful but only for encrypting small files or messages.

But, what if you want to send large files or group of files that are very confidential without the risk of someone intercepting your email and reading your files? That's where Flexcrypt Folder becomes handy.

Flexcrypt Folder is a free software for windows that encrypt files or group of files or folders with password protection. Encryption is based on AES 256 Bit.

How it works?

1.Download the Flexcrypt folder here.

2.After installation is over, just highlight the file or group of files or folders that you want to encrypt and right click on them, you will see the context menu.

3. Then select Encrypt using FlexCrypt Folder, enter a password and it then creates a self extracting file with .exe extension, that's all.

The best part
is that it will create a self extracting archive(exe file) that can only be opened with the correct password. That means, the user need not install any software to open the files but he/she should know the correct password to open it.

This is an excellent program that makes your life easier when you want to send some confidential and secret documents via email to your friend. Higly recommanded.

Encrypt Your Data Online with InfoEncrypt for Free
Friday, June 20, 2008 @ 9:03 PM  ¦ 0 comments  ¦ StumbleUpon Toolbar Stumble It!  ¦
You are in a cybercafe to send some secret email to your friend but you fear that some body can read your message by intercepting it. Then, how do you encrypt the message so that no body can read your message except your friend?

Don't worry. You can securely send your message over the web with InfoEncrypt.

InfoEncrypt
is a web based application that easily encrypts your data online and it will be secure for sending over web. Anyone who intercepts the encrypted message without password will not be able to read original message.

And what's more, it's absolutely free and does not require installing any software to your PC.

How it works?

1. Enter or type your message in the text field, choose encryption password, and click ‘Encrypt’ to encrypt the message.

2. Copy the encrypted text and send it via email.

3.Then your friend goes to InfoEncrypt site to decrypt the message using encryption password.

But don't send password with the encrypted message itself. You can use other channel, for example you can tell the password by phone.

Test yourself by decrypting the following encrypted message using the password freebies.

</Encrypted>

As per the site, this service is helpful when:
  • You want to send a mail message which can be read by many people (family, friends, colleagues, etc)
  • Your company has traffic analysis software which filters your message for words like a 'Job', 'CV', or any others. You can encrypt your message and then send it from/to any e-mail account.
  • When you send a message through unsecured channel (public mail server, ICQ, etc).
  • When you want to hide information from automatic robots, which filters you public site or blog. In this case you can write password for decryption and link to this, and anyone will be able to read your message.
