Extract Text From OCR Scanned Documents Online for Free
Tuesday, April 07, 2009 @ 9:26 PM  ¦ StumbleUpon Toolbar Stumble It!  ¦
OCR Terminal is a free web-based Optical Character Recognition (OCR) service that lets you convert OCR scanned document into editable text keeping the format and layout intact.

That means, it lets you extract the text from the scanned image/pdf documents and extracted text can be downloaded in *.txt or *.rtf or *.doc *.pdf formats. It accurately preserves formatting and layout of documents. Registration is required.

OCR Terminal supports all popular document image formats (including PDF and multi-page TIFF), captured as scanned images, photographs, or even screenshots.

Currently, it recognizes only English language documents and other limitation is that you can convert only 30 scanned documents per day.

OCR Terminal is really fabulous. Give a try.
