Now Cell phones are not mere cell phones, they are more than that, a mini computer. You can send email and browse the web, and many have built-in storage and memory. As a result, our phones contain all sorts of sensitive information like contacts,passwords for the systems you use ,the websites you visit etc., Most of us don't consider our phones a security risk. SMS, or text messages, are one way a hacker can implant code on an unsuspecting phone. Unlike email, where it's possible to see who the sender is and what the content of the message is before you open it, a text message requires the phone owner to open it to learn that information.
