Some time back I had downloaded above photo from flickr and forgot to bookmark it. Later I thought to use this photo in the article "Photo to sketch:Convert Your photo to sketch instantly" and wanted to give the credit to the author.
But I didn't know the original link of the photo except the host site name flickr. Luckily I found Tineye, an image search engine, that really helped me to find the original author of the photo(See the screen shot below).
Tineye is really an impressive and innovative image search engine that finds similar images online. Give it an image, and it shows you where else that image appears on the web. Just upload the image from your desktop or paste the URL of photo to find the similar or modified images hosted on other sites.
Tineye does for images what Google does for text. TinEye plugin for Firefox is available so that you can search the image without leaving your browser.See the demo below.
You can use TinEye to check whether anybody else is using your photo without your permission. TinEye is currently in private beta and you can request an invite to try it yourself.
