Use your head to move the cursor-Hand free mouse?
Tuesday, January 01, 2008 @ 6:34 PM  ¦ StumbleUpon Toolbar Stumble It!  ¦
Smartnav from naturalpoint shows you how you can use your head to move the cursor on the screen so that you can leave both your hands on the keyboard while maintaining the cursor on screen with your forehead.

It uses infra-red(IR) camera to track your head movements and a tiny silverdot placed on your forehead reflect IR light back to the Smart-Nav, which sends instructions to your computer to move your mouse cursor.

For mouse clicks, you need to use hotkeys on the keyboard, so it is not completely handsfree yet.

See the live demo below.

It is basically designed for people suffering from repetitive strain injuries,Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and to the people with physical limitations who need a mouse alternative.
